| THERE IS A SEASON |
"There is a season... with no name that I am hoping and waiting for every year. In a brief time, it frees us from a dark and overly long winter. It brings out light, water, mildness, and opens all horizons. It announces that Life is coming back again! Here are some pieces of that short season... and other classical ones."

| The Quiet Snow |
"I began this series to illustrate "The Quiet Snow" a movement from the 1958 'Scandinavian Suite #1' by Gene DiNovi, and then continued the series over the past winter after a trip out to the edge of the frozen Hangdog Reef. Georgian Bay was frozen over as far as you could see and there was only the white silence and the sound of wind."
The exhibit includes a video made by the artist, entitled "The Quiet Snow" and pastel on paper of Amsterdam, Tuscany and Georgian Bay.

JOHN GOULD: Sketches & Beyond from the Drawn Film
John Gould: Sketches & Beyond from the Drawn Film John Gould was one of Canada's best draughtsmen who made a series of films in which he gave guided tours of his works using the language of cinema. Utterly captivating, the films don't bring the drawings to life so much as are a show-and-tell lesson on the draughtsman's art. "I'm not trying to represent reality with a drawing," notes Gould in one of the films, "I'm trying to get people to look at drawings as drawings."

April 2 - April 23, 2011 Featuring Richard Montpetit and RFM McInnis
with Laurie Campbell, Mary Anne Ludlam, Joseph Peller, Claude A. Simard, Arto Yuzbasiyan, W. Kerr Aykroyd, Alan C. Collier, Albert Franck, F.W. Jopling, John Kasyn, John Little, Goodridge Roberts, Peter Clapham Sheppard, Phillip Surrey, and William Winter.
For centuries, artists have been painting their surroundings, including the cities that they live in. Not only has this given us an artist's perspective on the subject, it has recorded the history and development of our cities.
This exhibition features two of the best current day artists painting their most familiar neighbourhoods. Richard Montpetit is well known for his subtly lit Montreal street scenes, while Robert McInnis has focused on his Winnipeg backyards and laneways.
