Celebration of Light

Celebration of Light

I think it is the first time that I present a solo show during the winter. For that show I did a serie of landscape mostly around home in Eastern Township. Few trees, snow, simple scenes with a part of abstract where the subject turn to be the ambiance of the winter and more specifically the light. Perceiving that light is everywhere and understanding that colours are modulations of light had change my manner in such a way that in the whole harmony, colour in itself is light. And this winter gave me scenes to push in that direction with the freshness of the snow. A real celebration of light.

I add to that group of winter paintings few scenes of Venise from my last painting trip.
Capture the mystery and the immemorial charm of the city with there again lower contrasts and rich colours. At the end, there is nothing like painting the specific and the unique light of a scene to express the joy of the present moment.
