The time is approaching for the first of our 2 moves. Although we are officially at 641 Yonge Street until the end of July, we will be transitioning to our temporary space at 300 Campbell Avenue (Suite 203) during the week of July 22nd. That transition will take approximately 2 weeks. We will reopen on Tuesday August 6th. Our website, email and phone specifications will not change.
The renovation is moving along well at our future home at 631 Dupont Street. The biggest job of digging out and underpinning the basement is well under way. The main floor and exterior work will begin after that. Our hope is still to open in the winter of 2020.
Our gallery moved to 641 Yonge Street in 1961. When my family acquired the Roberts Gallery in 1948 they opened the gallery at 759 Yonge Street just north of Bloor. They were forced to move from that location when the Bloor subway line was to be constructed. During the 58 years at 641 Yonge our gallery has displayed hundreds of exhibitions by Canadian artists. We are proud of every one of those exhibitions and look forward to many more both on the contemporary and historical sides. We strongly believe the talent of Canadian artists is second to none in the world today.
We look forward to welcoming you to our new space at 300 Campbell Avenue.
