A Walk With A Friend Series – John G. Lennard

“The series ‘A walk with a friend’ was inspired by the wonderful experience of reconnecting with an old friend.

During the 80’s playing rock and roll in London UK and existing on dreams I offered to share my one room flat with Billy Duffy a guitar player and band member that needed a place to stay. We tossed a coin to see who would sleep on the mattress or springs. In the years since he has sold millions of records and played with all the greats in rock and roll including his own band The Cult. I left rock and roll in London UK to study jazz saxophone and paint in New York City.

It was non stop enjoyment to reconnect many years later outside Manchester and walk in the English countryside. It was also a reminder of what good times are made of. This is a series of paintings done from the sketches and memory of the wonderful day, Spring 2023.”
