About the Artist

Brandon has long admired architecture stemming from a childhood often left to his own devices traversing Toronto’s downtown. Today his interests lie in capturing the beauty found in the mundane, inspired by the overlooked, iconic architectural history, design and typography.

His process to create a painting is a lengthy one. Brandon begins with an idea that is drawn into his sketchbook 2-4 years out from an exhibit. From there extensive research on the locations are conducted and the series gets planned out. Often multiple trips to a location is required whether that is due to needing additional source reference or to catch the bright sunlight kissing the location. All of his paintings are created at first from his own photographs. From there he proceeds to build extremely high resolution compositions in Photoshop which allows the artist to see all the details that allows him to pay his respects to each building fully in his minutely detailed paintings.

Born in Leamington, Ontario and raised in Toronto, Ontario. Brandon’s paintings are highly sought after having 75 paintings placed in both private and corporate collections in just the past six years. He lives and works in Toronto’s midtown neighbourhood of Leaside with his artist wife Janie and their English bull terrier Dolores.
