Essentially self-taught, she enrolled at the Université du Québec à Montréal, from 1982 to 1984, where she studied visual arts, art history and drawing. She participates in many workshops of living models. She is introduced to mixed techniques and ink on paper. Her medium is mainly oil on canvas.
She explores an existential theme. By still life, she approaches the object as a witness to intimacy, while the emptiness of a room contributes to the feeling of interiority. Whether in Montreal cafes, or when traveling to Europe, she is inspired by the specific atmosphere of each place. By a fluid line, she grasps the expression of the men and women who she rub shoulders with. Her drawing testifies to the urgency of translating the truth of the moment. Another part of her research was developed around the stage: dancers, musicians, and especially actors. This approach is part of a need to capture emotion through a minimalist contour line that retains the essential, the soul, the sensitivity of the model. Since the 1990s, she has been drawing actors in their dressing rooms and behind the scenes at the Théâtre du Nouveau Monde (TNM) in Montreal. Whether at the theater or at the café, she is looking for the gesture that characterizes individuality. By the expressive force of colour, she creates evocative harmonies of light. She develops a plastic language where textured material combined with the precision of assumed gestures, gives a speed, a certain freedom, to her works.
For thirty years, she has presented nearly 30 solo exhibitions in Montreal, Toronto, and Victoria, British Columbia. She participated in more than seventy group exhibitions. Her works are part of many corporate, public, and private collections in Canada, the United States, Europe, and Asia.
Presently lives in Eastman, Quebec.
Mainly self-taught she became involved with the arts in 1976, starting with pen & ink sketches & drawings. She then attended classes part-time at University of Quebec where she studied history of the arts, drawing & live model sessions between 1982-84
