THE AGO AQUIRES WORK BY BEWABON SHILLING
We are honoured to be able to share some exciting news.
The Art Gallery of Ontario has acquired a major work by Bewabon Shilling for its permanent collection. As of today, Bewabon’s “Field Series, Purples,” (2024), oil on canvas (48” x 72”), will be on view in the McLean Centre for Indigenous + Canadian Art (Level 2) as part of a thematic grouping titled “Land.”
This marks a significant career milestone, and we could not be more thrilled or proud. Bewabon’s work now joins the AGO’s collection with both his father, Arthur Shilling, and his brother, Travis Shilling—an incredible and meaningful legacy.
Please join us in celebrating this achievement.
Congratulations, Bewabon—this recognition is extremely well deserved.
