“WANDER” BY DAVID MARSHAK

“This show is called ‘Wander’ to reflect the nature of the subject matter. These pieces are a confluence of images that I’ve had floating around over the past 20 years or so. I take so many photos on trips (thousands) that it can be difficult to choose what to paint.

I have traveled extensively through the Canadian Eastern Arctic and through Western Greenland, circumnavigated Newfoundland several times and landed in many a zodiac on the shores of Labrador. I’ve also spent many nights in tents in Ontario’s parklands and have enjoyed sunsets on docks throughout cottage country.”

“This show is a compilation and a retrospective of sorts. Canada has endless treasures to offer and I am happy to partake and present to viewers some paintings that reflect just a bit of the glory that is our natural world. These paintings are intended to soothe and provide some repose from a world that while increasingly challenging in so many ways, also holds natural wonders and calm moments that persist whether or not we are there to record them.”
